Coulomb gluons will generally destroy coherence

چکیده
A bstract Coherence violation is an interesting and counter-intuitive phenomenon in QCD. We discuss the circumstances under which occurs observables sensitive to soft radiation arrive at conclusion that almost all such hadron colliders will violate coherence some degree. illustrate our discussion by considering gaps-between-jets observable, where super-leading, then we generalise other observables, including precise statements on logarithmic order of violation.

Will Google destroy western democracy? Bias in policy problem solving
Democracy requires students to choose policy positions based on evidence, yet confirmation bias prevents them from doing so. As a preliminary step in building a policy reasoning tutor, this study identifies where bias occurs during the search and analysis of evidence in a policy reasoning task. 60 university students played an on-line game in which they chose which of four policies would increa...
متن کاملWill relativistic heavy-ion colliders destroy our planet?
Experiments at the Brookhaven National Laboratory will study collisions between gold nuclei at unprecedented energies. The concern has been voiced that “strangelets”– hypothetical products of these collisions– may trigger the destruction of our planet. We show how naturally occurring heavy-ion collisions can be used to derive a safe and stringent upper bound on the risk incurred in running thes...

Pathogenic brucellae are the agent of brucellosis, a disease that causes abortion and infertility in natural hosts such as sheep, goats, or cattle. Brucella melitensis, Brucella abortus, and Brucella suis are the most pathogenic Brucella species for humans and also the most relevant bacteria involved in economical loses and in animal and human health problems. In addition, these Brucella repres...
متن کاملCoulomb blockade versus coherence in transport through a double junction
We construct a model describing current transport through a superconducting or normal conducting circuit consisting of two point contacts in series by extending a Green’s functions technique. In between the contacts is a mesoscopically large and bulklike island. The model can, in principle, handle contacts in all transmission regimes. Coherent interaction throughout the whole system is included...

itotic spindle positioning involves a con-formational switch in LGN, the mammalian version of the invertebrate Pins protein, duces a spindle rocking that represents the first genetically manipulable model for studying spindle positioning in vertebrates. The switch operates via the opening of LGN, which can normally fold back onto itself. The unfolding is triggered by binding to either membrane-...
